Live Teleprompter Privacy Policy
Live Teleprompter is designed around local-first use. We do not upload your scripts, reading settings, output settings, or display selections to servers operated by us. See Appendix 1 for permissions and system capabilities, and Appendix 2 for third-party services and SDK information.
Introduction
Welcome to Live Teleprompter. We understand that scripts, speeches, recordings, and livestream content may contain important information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information related to your use of the macOS app and website pages.
Please read this policy carefully before using the app. By using or continuing to use the app, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree, you may stop using the app or the relevant features.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Live Teleprompter macOS app, website pages, user agreement and privacy policy pages, and information generated when you contact us by email. It does not apply to privacy practices of Apple App Store, payment providers, third-party websites, services, or platforms.
2. Information We Collect and Use
We process information under the principles of lawfulness, fairness, necessity, and minimization. To provide script editing, prompter output, mirror display, reading controls, Pro upgrade, and support, the following information may be involved:
- Script content, reading position, playback state, and output state. These are stored locally on your device by default and are used to restore your workspace and provide prompter functionality.
- Reading and output preferences, including font size, speed, line height, side margins, horizontal mirror, vertical mirror, calibration mode, display selection, and onboarding completion status.
- Device and system-related information, such as macOS version, app version, available display list, and window state. The app mainly uses this locally to list displays and open output windows.
- Purchase and entitlement status. Pro upgrade, restore purchases, transaction verification, and price display are handled by Apple App Store / StoreKit. We do not receive your full card number, payment account, or Apple ID password.
- Information you voluntarily provide by email, such as email address, issue description, screenshots, recordings, system details, or attachments. We use this information only to reply, troubleshoot, improve the product, and handle your request.
Live Teleprompter does not require an account operated by us, does not operate a cloud script vault, and does not collect your script content for advertising profiles.
3. Local Storage and Deletion
The app uses local macOS storage to save scripts and preferences so it can restore your workspace the next time you open it. You can clear or replace script content in the app, or delete local saved content by uninstalling the app, clearing the app container, or using system data management tools.
Because we do not keep server copies of your scripts, there is no remote script copy for us to delete. Uninstalling the app, clearing the local container, changing devices, or reinstalling the system may delete local scripts and preferences, so please back up important scripts yourself.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The app itself does not rely on cookies set by us to provide core functionality. Website pages may involve necessary browser cache, static hosting logs, or system-level access records. We do not set advertising tracking cookies on the website and do not use cookies for purposes not described in this policy.
5. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share personally identifiable information with third parties except in the following situations:
- With your explicit consent or based on your active choice.
- Where Apple needs to process information under its rules to complete App Store purchases, restore purchases, price display, and transaction verification.
- Where required by laws, regulations, judicial or administrative authorities, or where necessary to resolve disputes and protect the lawful rights of you, other users, us, or the public.
- In the event of a merger, acquisition, asset transfer, or similar transaction, information may be transferred within the lawful and necessary scope, and the new processor will be required to remain bound by this policy.
Anonymized information that cannot identify a specific individual is not considered a sharing, transfer, or public disclosure of personal information.
6. Retention and Protection
Scripts and preferences are primarily stored on your local device. For information you voluntarily provide by email, we retain it only for as long as necessary to contact you, provide support, troubleshoot, comply with legal obligations, or handle disputes.
We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect relevant information from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, damage, or loss. However, no system or network environment can be absolutely secure. Please avoid sending full scripts, identity documents, financial information, or other sensitive content in support emails unless necessary.
7. Your Rights
You can manage local scripts and preferences inside the app. You may also contact us using the address below to request access, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, explanation, or to submit a complaint regarding personal information. For purchases, refunds, subscriptions, or account information processed by Apple App Store, please use Apple's official channels.
8. Children
The app is intended for general desktop productivity, recording, livestreaming, teaching, and presentation scenarios, and is not directed specifically to children. If you are a minor, please use the app with consent and guidance from a parent or guardian. Guardians may contact us with questions about minors' information.
9. Updates
We may update this policy as product features, laws, App Store requirements, or operations change. The updated version will be posted on this page. For material changes, we will provide a reasonable notice where appropriate. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the updated policy.
10. Contact Us
For privacy questions, complaints, suggestions, or requests, contact: clawai327@outlook.com. We generally respond within fifteen business days.
